HOW TO IDENTIFY YOUR TALENT(S)

Greetings to you, my reader,

Today, I want to write about talent pointers... What i mean by talent pointers are those habits and characters of a person, that gears towards a skill(s) (I will define habit and character towards the end of this piece)....

Let me give you, an example of what am talking about;

I have this pretty little cousin, when she was about 7 years old, we call her Barrister!!!! We started calling her Barrister, because we have carefully observed something about her, which is;.   At that tender age, she can argue about something, with adults, giving strong reasons and finally wins the argument...... You see!!! This is a pointer that she can be a good lawyer/good marketer, etc because she has a convincing ability!!! Even when she is wrong, the boldness that is exhibited in her can even convince you, that thinks you know the correct thing.... This is one of the ways to identify one's potential(s)

Secondly, carefully study a person's likes and dislikes.... It could also be a pointer.

Thirdly, If the person is still a student, get to know the subjects or courses he/she does well in, and enjoy discussing...... Like me, when i was in Junior secondary, I enjoy discussing, mostly social studies, Commerce , English and Home Economic s..... and I usually have high grades in those subjects...

Fourthly, look at the person's qualities....let me mention a few qualities; .............Attention to details, quick thinker, pro-active, perfectionist, sympathetic, solution-profferer/problem solving, optimistic, curiosity, Sociability....Just to mention a few....So all these qualities I have mentioned also point at certain innate skills...

Let me quickly mention that, there are INNATE SKILLS AND ACQUIRED SKILLS.

There is a theory that says,  "EVERYONE HAS 4 PANS:::    It is a theory in Mass Communication (Am a graduate of Mass Communication).

PAN-A...........Things you know about yourself and people don't know those things about you...(There are abilities you are aware, that you have but people are not aware yet until you start using them)

PAN-B............Things both you and people know about you....( There are also abilities you have exhibited over time, so both you and people are aware of them)

PAN-C...........Things people know about and you don't know those things about yourself..( people have told me a lot of positive things I didn't know about my abilities, is just now am trying to look at those things and am seeing they are true about me)

PAN-D...........Things both you and people are yet to discover about you....( There are abilities you have now, that neither you nor people have discovered about you) You need to really stretch yourself before those skills can be discovered.... Stop shying away from responsibilities just because you feel you wouldn't be able do it right.... Do it and fail, then learn from your mistakes and move on.....You are on a journey of discovering the unknown part of you and mistakes are allowed at the beginning....CONGRATS on your anticipated trial...



HABIT......This means an action performed repeatedly and automatically by a person.. (Atimes without realising it)....

CHARACTER.......This means a distinguish feature, characteristics; and traits of a person..
